Deputies from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance have once again blocked the door of the Kosovo Government, demanding that the constitutive session of the Assembly be called.
MPs from both parties have accused the Vetëvendosje Movement and the incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, of "deliberately blocking the state."
PDK MP Artan Behrami said that the country is in a constitutional, political and economic crisis.
"Even today, together with colleagues from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance and assembly members, we have come to once again appear in front of the Government building of the Republic of Kosovo and to convey the message to the citizens of Kosovo that this government building has been usurped, occupied by a deputy who has been holding Kosovo hostage since 2025, keeping Kosovo in constant crisis and the crisis is multiple. We are in the deepest constitutional crisis since the history of Kosovo, we are in the deepest political crisis since the post-war period in the Republic of Kosovo, we are in an economic crisis, in a crisis even with our allies. The Government of Kosovo had a budget of 4 billion euros. Today we are in September. Where is this money? Where did this money go? So we have no projects, we have no projects in health, no projects in infrastructure, no projects in the field of education and we are in a total collapse", said Behrami.
Behrami said that Kurti is attempting to turn Kosovo into an autocracy.
"Therefore, our call once again is to return to the Assembly, to constitute the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and to continue to address the internal and external challenges that await the Republic of Kosovo. This attempt by Mr. Kurti, these temptations to turn into an autocrat will fail because we, both as a political party and in parliament, will do everything to prevent something like this and to once again return Kosovo to constitutional tracks," said Behrami.
Meanwhile, Alliance MP Time Kadrijaj said that the actions are being carried out to attract attention and demand a return to institutions.
"As our colleague said, together with the PDK deputies and we, the Alliance, are coming out here every day in symbolic actions to get attention and to demand that we return to institutions, to return to constitutionality. While we have stagnation in every sector, we have to face other problems because the man who won the elections is not returning to institutions, is not constituting the Assembly and has led the country into a blockade", said Kadrijaj. "We have a total blockade and the reason we are coming out is to demand that we unblock this blockade that Albin Kurti is deliberately causing. The address of this blockade, the address of the evil of this country is Albin Kurti".
Assembly members from Pristina have also joined their action.
The PDK and the Alliance are protesting every day with the request to invite the constitutive session of the 11th legislature. This session was started twice but was postponed at Kurti's request to negotiate on the issue of the president. According to Kurti, without an agreement on the election of the president, new elections would inevitably be held even if the Assembly is constituted and the Government is formed. He has already reached an agreement with the Democratic League of Kosovo on the name of Bekim Sejdiu, but that there are divisions in the LDK and currently there are not enough numbers.
