Kryetari i Kuvendit, Niko Peleshi, theksoi se një aktgjykim nuk mund të rishkruajë historinë e një populli dhe as të barazojë agresorin me viktimën.
Në deklaratë thuhet gjithashtu se lufta e UÇK-së ishte për liri dhe për t’i dhënë fund represionit dhe gjenocidit nga regjimi i Millosheviqit.

The Albanian Parliament expresses its deep indignation and complete disagreement with a decision that it considers deeply unfair towards Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi.
The Assembly of Albania reiterates a historical truth that cannot be relativized: the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army was a war for the freedom and liberation of Kosovo. It was the war of a people to end repression, violence and persecution and to gain the right to live freely in their own country. It was born as a response to the systematic repression, violence, ethnic cleansing and genocide committed by the regime of Slobodan Milosevic. Without the fight and sacrifice of the Kosovo Liberation Army against the bloody Serbian occupation, the history of the liberation of Kosovo cannot be understood. The KLA was a decisive force in the resistance of the people of Kosovo and the path that led to its liberation, freedom and independence. Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are inseparable from this history, from the war for liberation and from Kosovo's journey towards its freedom, independence and statehood.
A verdict cannot rewrite the history of a people. It cannot undo the liberating character of the Kosovo war or equate the aggressor with the victim. It cannot undo the sacrifice of the KLA.
The Assembly expresses its deep concern about the double standards in dealing with the region's bloody past. Public and state honours reserved for persons convicted of war crimes, as well as the glorification of figures linked to genocide and ethnic cleansing, including Ratko Mladić, violate the memory of the victims, hinder reconciliation and run counter to European values.
The Assembly stands against any attempt by Serbia and Russia to politically instrumentalize this process, to relativize the crimes of the Milošević regime, and to delegitimize the liberation war, independence, and statehood of Kosovo.
The Albanian Parliament stands in full solidarity with Kosovo, its people and institutions, as well as with Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi and their families.
Our conviction in their innocence remains unwavering, and equally unwavering is the historical truth: the KLA fought for the freedom and liberation of Kosovo.
This judgment is not the final word. The Assembly expects that all legal remedies and further stages of the process will be pursued to the end, guaranteeing full respect for due process standards.

In all international forums, denounce the crimes of Slobodan Milosevic's Serbian regime in Kosovo, including genocidal acts, war crimes and sexual violence during the war; demand justice for the victims and condemn the lack of commitment of the Serbian authorities to uncover these crimes, establish responsibility and guarantee justice for the victims.
To coordinate actions with the Assembly of Kosovo, and calls on both of our Governments to also coordinate actions, with the aim of correcting this injustice through institutional means.
