Melazim Koci, former editor-in-chief of REL, said that the Democratic Party's loss in the May 11 elections was the biggest failure of its leader, Sali Berisha.
He said that Berisha did not have any new causes and the campaign was almost the same as in the past. According to him, this has damaged the DP more this time.
"This was Berisha's biggest failure, his inability to bring in an heir, to reform the party. During the campaign we saw the same figures, the same ideas, almost like in 2000. The main problem of the DP campaign was, Berisha had no cause, Rama had one - the European Union. Second, imitating Trump had no effect in Albania, it was even counterproductive. It was a campaign without a cause. This time it really damaged the DP," Koci emphasized.
Hyseni: SPAK, the only mechanism outside of Edi Rama's control
PSD political activist, Zgjim Hyseni, believes that the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) is the only mechanism in Albania that has remained outside of Edi Rama's control.
"SPAK is currently, in my opinion, the only mechanism outside the control of Edi Rama's government. I don't know for how long. The change of power in Washington could eventually have an impact. SPAK has been an exclusively American mechanism. Even the power to impose such structures is American, not so much European. We know this from Kosovo," Hyseni said on KTV's "Konfront."

Pula: Edi Rama's power - absolute, the president - his tool
Political analyst Shqiprim Pula has stated that after the landslide victory in the May 11 parliamentary elections in Albania, Edi Rama has consolidated absolute power, concentrating all institutional control in his hands.
According to Pula, the electoral process in Albania was a "one man show", focused entirely on the figure of Rama.
"About 60 appearances throughout Albania, where Edi Rama himself presented the program and asked for votes. The entire process was personalized, with a focus on him," Pula said on KTV's "Konfront."
He emphasized that with the election results - where the Socialist Party secured 83 mandates out of a total of 140 in the Assembly - Edi Rama now has in his hands all the mechanisms to change laws, make appointments to state institutions and control diplomatic corps.
"The president has become his tool. With this majority, Rama will have absolute power. This does not serve democracy, on the contrary - it weakens internal institutional control," Pula added.
The Democratic Party, the main opposition force, has only received 50 mandates, significantly deepening the gap with the Socialists.
Of the small parties, Agron Shehaj's Opportunity Party is projected to receive two mandates, while the party led by Adriatik Lapaj is expected to have one mandate – as much as Arlind Qori's Together Movement.
Pantina: The reasons for the SP's victory - hard work and the lack of an alternative in the opposition
Shqipe Pantina, an analyst, has given the reasons for the victory of the Socialist Party in Albania in the May 11 elections. From the preliminary results from the elections in Albania, the Socialist Party is leading by a large number of mandates.
According to her, the victory of the SP was expected considering the work this party has done on the ground.
"The victory was expected and the result is not surprising for the SP, considering the work they have done on the ground. As a party that engages with structures, they have been maximally engaged on the ground. Secondly, what has enabled the deep victory of the SP is an opposition without an alternative. I see no alternative in Sali Berisha. Instead of working on reforming the party, he dealt a lot with Lulzim Basha. He insisted on taking the leadership of the party," she said in "Konfront".
Pantina added that the opposition in Albania lacks structures on the ground, and without them, according to her, a party cannot achieve good results.
"You can have the best governing program, but if you don't have people on the ground, a good program won't bring you votes. The SP has understood this."
