Pal Lekaj has announced that he will not be part of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo list in the June 7 elections.
He has said that he is stepping down to make room for new AAK members.
"Today, after 26 years, I have decided not to run on the Alliance list in the June 7 elections, opening the doors to new members, but giving my absolute support and committing myself more than ever before to ensure that the Alliance, together with the candidate for Prime Minister, Mr. Ardian Gjini, comes out strong in these elections, with the best list and names that a political grouping can have," he wrote on Facebook.
Lekaj has been a minister and MP, as well as mayor of Gjakova for one term.
