The municipality always promotes the use of electric scooters as a means of transport, in order to relieve traffic.
Although, it itself does not provide the right conditions.
In addition to the lack of special paths, citizens who use the scooter as a means of transport are not allowed access to the "Urban Traffic" buses.
Such a thing happened to Driton Mehmet, who says that for no reason he was not allowed to ride on line 4, as he was on a scooter.
At that time, Mehmeti says that he was with children and it was impossible for him to travel by scooter.
"The bus arrived, it wasn't too late, and when it arrived, it told me that it wasn't allowed to ride, and they didn't give me any reason. I decided to call Urban Traffic and called them on the phone. An official told me that it is not allowed, that we have had two cases where the mosque was broken and the municipality decided not to let them in," said Mehmeti.
According to him, this decision is illogical.
"This reasoning is illogical because all over the world, in case it rains or runs out of battery, we have to use Urban Traffic because it is at the service of citizens. I don't see any danger of people with scooters causing any problems inside the buses. Whoever made this decision is illogical," he added.
These decisions appear to have been taken by the conductors of "Urban Traffic".
Tetuta Krasniqi, spokeswoman for "Urban Traffic", says that the regulation does not state that it is not allowed to put scooters on buses.
"According to the regulation for the regulation of transport in the municipality of Pristina, bicycles and scooters are neither allowed nor prohibited. The regulation was approved in 2013. As long as we have complaints, we will make a decision together with the municipality", she declared.
According to her, they will soon work on making a decision.
"We have so far not been notified of the ban or permission, the first complaint we have received from you. Therefore, we will examine this complaint and until a decision will not be allowed, as there is a large flow of citizens", said Krasniqi.
The municipality of Pristina has not taken responsibility. In an answer to KOHEN, she says that these decisions belong to "Urban Traffic" itself.
