Osmani hopes that the countries of the Islamic Cooperation will recognize Kosovo in the near future

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has called on all the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to recognize the independence of Kosovo.

Osmani met in New York with the general secretary of the OIC, Hissein Brahim Taha.

"During the meeting, President Osmani expressed her appreciation for the ongoing support and commitment of the OIC, especially for the annual Resolution initiated by the OIC, which calls for the recognition of Kosovo by all member states of this organization. In this spirit, the president expressed the hope that the member states, which have not recognized Kosovo's independence, will do so in the near future. President Osmani and General Secretary Taha reiterated their commitment to promoting stronger and more productive relations between Kosovo and the OIC," the Presidency said.

During the meeting, Osmani also raised the need to explore cooperation in various fields between Kosovo and OIC members.

"At the meeting, President Osmani invited Secretary General Taha to visit Kosovo in the near future to further examine the possibilities for deepening mutual cooperation", says the Presidency.
