President Vjosa Osmani has declared on Tuesday about the murders of women in the last few days in the country.

In the panel with young people at the Forum for Women and Peace, Osmani said that the cases of murders in Ferizaj and Pejë show gender inequality, which has deep roots in our society.

According to her, justice institutions have a primary obligation to protect citizens and provide them with judicial protection.

"Today proved to us that a deep wound is still present and it is gender-based violence, which unfortunately has its roots in the long-standing inequality of a society. There is no better way to fight this trend of femicide if we all join forces and listen to the voice of our youth how to increase efforts and how to make sure that women are heard, girls are heard and are part of the decision making and to empower the institutions of justice that have the primary obligation to protect the citizens and give them judicial protection as provided by our Constitution," said Osmani. /KSP
