President Vjosa Osmani has commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Kralan and Upper Qupeva massacres, where 87 civilians were killed and burned.

Osmani said that these massacres where old men, women, children and men were killed, are evidence of the Serbian regime's attempt to ethnically cleanse the Albanians.

She added that it is necessary for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

"25 years ago, the forces of the genocidal regime of Serbia, in Kralan of Gjakova, after they kidnapped them from the column of displaced people, killed and burned 87 civilians from the municipalities: Klin, Malishevo and Gjakova, among whom old men, women, men and children. The criminal regime continued its brutality in the villages of Qupevë e Epërme and e Poshtme, Gllarevë, Përçevë, Sverkë, Gremnik, where it brutally killed 45 Albanian civilians. These massacres are evidence of the Serbian criminal regime's attempt to exterminate and ethnically cleanse Albanians. "Bringing the perpetrators of the crime to justice is necessary for lasting peace and for the protection of the truth," she said.
