"The Constitutional Declaration of July 2, 1990, announced by the 114 delegates of the Assembly of Kosovo, paved the way for the fulfillment of the centuries-old dream for the Republic of Kosovo. Their act proved that the path of becoming a state requires dedication, sacrifice and courage. The delegates of that time combined these three, laying the foundation stone of the state of Kosovo, which was sealed on February 17, 2008. The Constitutional Declaration of July 2 is an emblematic event, which marked our historical turning point for freedom and independence. July 2 remains one of the most important dates for our country, because its foundations rest on the decision of the delegates of that time. Congratulations on July 2, may the Republic of Kosovo be eternal!" - Osmani said.

Haradinaj: The declaration of July 2, the cornerstone of the freedom later implemented by the KLA

The Chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has said that the Constitutional Declaration of July 2, 1990, was a cornerstone of the freedom that was implemented a few years later by the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Through a post on Facebook, Haradinaj said that this statement was the continuation of the efforts of Albanians for freedom.

"That day, 111 delegates, even under curfew conditions, legitimized the will of the people of Kosovo for independence. They will be remembered and exalted by generations for their effort to realize the centuries-old dream, the independent state. The declaration of July 2, 1990, was a stone in the foundations of freedom, which was implemented a few years later by the brave men of the Kosovo Liberation Army", he wrote.

Konjufca: Declaration of July 2, unitary voice of the Albanian people in Kosovo

The Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, has stated that the Constitutional Declaration of July 2 has become the unitary voice for determining the political will of the Albanian people in Kosovo.

On the 33rd anniversary of this event, Konjufca said that with the adoption of the Constitutional Declaration by the then delegates of the Assembly of Kosovo, the affirmative principles for self-determination of the people and equality between nations were revealed.

"Precisely in this radical inconsistency, the Constitutional Declaration of July 2 would produce that political rift, from which followed the Kaçanik Assembly on September 7, 1990, when Kosovo was declared a republic, the 1991 Referendum for independence, the first elections of 1992 and KLA's fight for freedom; until the declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo on February 17, 2008", wrote Konjufca on Facebook.

He expressed the highest respects for the delegates of July 2, 1990.

"The Constitutional Declaration is still today an excellent example of what it means when a people sets the law for itself; how this marks the definition of justice in relation to oneself and equality in relation to the other", he further expressed.
