Opposition parties in Kosovo call the Government of Kosovo incompetent and incompetent. According to them, the executive has completely failed during 2022, not offering solutions to citizens in the economic and energy crisis, but also producing new crises. On the other hand, the executive says that the year 2022 has been a year of achievements, but also of challenges.
The deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Rashit Qalaj, has said that the Government of Kosovo has not done any positive work during 2022.
"We are faced with numerous problems related to the great crisis that has gripped our country and which has affected all layers. We had problems and we are having problems with energy, with the prices that were raised endlessly. We have had a degradation of the economic situation of the population. Today the citizens of Kosovo are much poorer than they were 1 year ago. He mentioned that we have a government that has not made any reaction or intervention to mitigate these issues. I think that the Government of Kosovo has not done any positive work during this 1 year. Even in my dreams, I could not foresee such a weak and incompetent government in relation to the mandate they are exercising", he said.
AAK deputy Pal Lekaj addresses the harshest criticisms of the work of the Government of Kosovo.
"There has not been any decision that has gone in favor of the citizens, whether it is economic development, or the energy crisis, or the crisis in the north, which are essential for a state. This government will be remembered for this year only for ad-hoc attitudes and for creating crises. Even those crises that he created, he did not solve in the right way. We are dealing with the energy crisis, there has been no improvement or alternative. More than six times the Assembly has declared an emergency crisis and in this direction the issue has remained where it was. Likewise, as far as economic development is concerned, we have a slowdown, there are no foreign investments, there is no employment, even though they proclaim about 40 employees, which is a fraud of the Kurti Government. If we look at it as a whole, the family economy has fallen too much, medium-sized enterprises have not developed, let's not talk about large enterprises that are almost on the verge of collapse... I can say as the opposition and a member of the Assembly of Kosovo, I think we are far from what Mr. Kurti promised, it turns out that it was all a fraud", emphasizes Lekaj.
Meanwhile, the political analyst, Gazmir Raci, says that the Government of Kosovo during 2022 has faced more challenges as a result of the impact of the war in Ukraine.

The New Year begins with the opposition's criticism of the Government
"There are several challenges that we have faced as Kosovo during this year. The first challenge had to do with the unprovoked war in Ukraine and the impact it had directly on the increase in inflation and then on the increase in prices and the living standards of the citizens of Kosovo. The government tried to help, especially the social class, through economic recovery packages. This was a challenge that took her energy. Then also the challenge of dialogue and still unresolved relations with Serbia have made the Government of Kosovo more concentrated in this dimension. There were areas where we did not make significant progress, especially in the health sector, we had significant problems throughout the year", declares Raci.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti says the opposite, who calls 2022 a successful year.
"We are very happy that we will have an economic growth of 4% of the Gross Domestic Product, once inflation is removed. Last year we had 10.7% of the Gross Domestic Product and exports increased by 22% this year, customs revenues increased by over 11%, tax revenues increased by almost 22% and foreign direct investments increased by 47%. Also, in April we had the economic revival package of 100, to which we attached in September the package of dealing with inflation of 150 million euros, and I believe that this second one has also influenced the saving of electricity of 15% for households for the month of November this year, compared to November last year. State reserves for 15 times and 5 thousand women were employed with the measure of 1.3, in which case a total of 239 persons with disabilities were employed, 119 men and 120 women because this year was declared the year of persons with disabilities. What should be mentioned is that we will already have a new draft law and it has passed in the Assembly of Kosovo and has become a law, it is the law on salaries and although we have waited longer, we are adjusting the internal equality, where the higher salary the president's salary will be only 1.5 times higher than that of a specialist doctor, it will be only 3.12 times that of an ordinary soldier and there will be an approximate level between the salary of a regular professor, prosecutor or judge and a specialist doctor on the other side", said Kurti for KosovaPress.
