The former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Blerim Ramadani, was ordered to be detained for 30 days by the decision of the Basic Court in Skopje.

This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora informs the opinion that the citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, Blerim Ramadani, has been assigned a 30-day detention measure by the decision of the Basic Court in Skopje", the announcement states.

Blerim Ramadani was detained on Wednesday at the Jazhinca border crossing, based on an arrest warrant issued by the Court of Belgrade, through INTERPOL Serbia, alleging war crimes in the summer of 1999 in the Nerodima region.

In the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stated that the Embassy of Kosovo in Skopje has engaged with a team of legal experts for the fastest possible release of Ramadan and his return to his family.

As announced, the institutions of Kosovo "will use all diplomatic channels to ensure the release of our citizen".

Klinaku: The decision to detain Ramadan for one month by the artificial state of Macedonia is unacceptable

The decision of the Foundation in Skopje to imprison Ramadan for 30 days has been described as unacceptable by the acting chairman of OVL-UÇK, Faton Klinaku.

He called North Macedonia an artificial state, adding that Kosovo should immediately take steps towards his release.

"The state of Kosovo must immediately take steps towards his release, because criminal Serbia has no right to judge the war veterans of the KLA who fought in Kosovo for liberation from the Serbian occupier. Those who allegedly helped change the power of the Albanians there, but also those who are called to be the change like VLEN, are miserable because they are not saying even a single word", wrote Klinaku on Facebook.
