The President of Albania, Bujar Nishani participated in the honoring ceremony dedicated to the former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, which took place today in the plenary hall of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
On this occasion, Nishani expressed his deep regret for the death of Chancellor Kohl and prayed for his rest in peace, conveying the most sincere condolences, also on behalf of the Albanian people, family and the highest German authorities present. .
The Albanian President praised the role, contribution and far-sighted vision of former Chancellor Kohl for the unification of Germany and Europe, as well as the strong support he gave to Albanians to break away from the communist dictatorship and to take the first steps of democracy.
