The process of reburial of the martyrs of the Istog Municipality began on Monday.
The municipality announced that the process is being carried out by the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) and the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML), in cooperation with the Kosovo Memorial Management Agency (AMMKM) and other institutions.
The martyrs will be reburied at the Memorial Complex in Vrellë.
The Head of the Municipality, Ilir Ferati, has declared that the reburial of the martyrs is a dignified and necessary act "to properly care for our historical memory."
"The reburial of martyrs in a common complex is a dignified and necessary act to properly care for our historical memory. Today, Istog honors the best sons and daughters who gave Kosovo freedom. Together with their families and fellow soldiers, we are building a common space of remembrance, respect and gratitude," the announcement says.
