The technical groups have started the procedures for opening the Customs office in the Port of Durrës.
Customs says that in the framework of the cooperation of the two Governments, as well as in the framework of the implementation of the decisions of both governments on December 7 and 8 in Tirana and Durrës, the Director General of Customs, Bahri Berisha and his colleagues met the Director General of Customs of Albania, Belinda Ikonomi with an associate, reports kp.
"During this meeting, the two working groups of the customs administrations were also present, where they discussed the technical procedures for the opening of the Kosovo Customs office in the Port of Durrës. In addition to the meetings, a visit was also made to the port of Durrës, where on this occasion the offices and work premises for the Kosovo Customs were determined from where the customs transit procedures will be carried out. The opening of this office will facilitate trade, the movement of goods as well as that of passengers. This is expected to reduce the cost of businesses as well as to help grow the economies of the two countries through deepening cooperation," the Customs statement said.
Customs procedures in the Port of Durres by Kosovo Customs will begin in January 2019.
