From Monday, June 1, Albania will open its land borders with its neighbors for all Albanians, whether with an Albanian passport, a Kosovo, North Macedonian or Montenegrin passport.
The news was announced today by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said that "we will continue to appeal to everyone, without exception, to be careful".
"We are taking steps according to a well-thought-out plan and not slowly, on the contrary. We are ready to open the land borders, but you know we have to get approval from the countries with which we have direct air transport links, because if not, if we open with other countries, then those countries do not open with us". Rama said.
The Prime Minister recalled what is done in the EU with free movement between the EU countries themselves. "Schengen is closed until June 15, while flights between EU countries are also closed immediately. Facts are facts and the fact that some do not want to know the real facts is obvious to anyone who has eyes to see, ears to hear, brains to think. In the global war Albania, together we have made an indisputable success story that will be remembered", said Rama/ATSH.
