Kosovo Police has announced that due to the organization of the international marathon "Prishtina 2026", on Sunday (tomorrow) traffic on several roads in Pristina and the Fushë-Kosovo region will be blocked, including a part of the highway.
As the announcement states, the Police have made all necessary police preparations to provide security for all participants, and have taken the necessary measures to determine exemptions, restrictions, full or partial blockages of certain road segments, in order to regulate road traffic and direct traffic, in order to create normal traffic flow.
"The Kosovo Police will stop the movement of vehicles on the Prishtina - Fushë-Kosovo road in the direction of Peja and vice versa, up to the junction (the junction on the 'Ibrahim Rugova' highway). The plan will begin to be implemented on Sunday (20.09.2026), starting from 09:00 until the end of the marathon," the announcement says.
In order to cope as easily as possible with the circumstances that will arise in road traffic, the Police requests the help and understanding of all citizens and has asked them to follow the instructions below.
1. Drivers traveling from Peja to Pristina → use the road through: Sllatina – Magura village – Lipjan → then connect to the national road Ferizaj – Pristina.
2. Drivers traveling from Peja and Fushë-Kosovo → use the road through: Sllatina – Bardh i Vogël – village Kuzmin – Fushë-Kosovo.
3. Drivers traveling from Pristina or Veternik to Peja/Airport → route: Pristina – Lipjan – Rufc i Ri – Poturoc – Magura – Airport.
4. Drivers traveling from Mitrovica towards Peja or the Airport → use the highway from Mazgit in the direction of Skopje, exit at Lipjan, then: Rufc i Ri – Poturoc – Magura – Airport.
5. Drivers traveling from Mitrovica to Ferizaj → will have free movement on the national road, without stops.
6. Public transport (buses) on the route Prishtina – Fushë-Kosovo – Airport and in the direction of Peja → should not circulate on this route during the competition, but should use the alternative routes mentioned above.
