The change in the Audit Report for the Annual Financial Report of the State Budget for 2023 has evoked many reactions. The opposition parties criticized the ruling party for direct interference in public institutions. They demanded an account from the Government and even from the Budget Committee, that the Auditor General be invited to report on changes to this report, the ZKA and Minister Murai said it was a technical error.
After the Democratic League of Kosovo, the other opposition parties PDK and AAK have accused the ruling party of interfering in the change of the Audit Report for the Annual Financial Report of the State Budget for 2023.
The member of the Committee for Budgets, Labor and Transfers, from PDK, Ferat Shala said that the ruling party has direct interference in public institutions.
"In many independent institutions there is direct intervention from the political levels, this in a simpler and clearer way is the direct intervention of the Minister of Finance and other political levels of the majority in the final audit report and this is recorded in real and concrete figures, according to the data of the Ministry, so the way and intervention is flagrant and now we can conclude that we do not have an independent audit in the internal institutions of our state because they are being filtered by the political structure", said Shala.
Shala has stated that the Commission should invite the General Auditor, Vlora Spanca, for a report regarding the amendment of the Audit Report for the Annual Financial Report of the State Budget for 2023.
"He should be invited, but in any case, in this relation, it means I don't expect big changes, because even for the Budget Committee and the majority in the committee, there is a majority", he said.
The deputy of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Pal Lekaj, said that the change in the report shows the way the Government manages the state's finances.
Lekaj has requested clarifications from the Government regarding this matter.
"Any attempt to intervene or manipulate the state's financial data seriously undermines public trust and shows a lack of transparency from the institutions. State financial reports must be accurate and unaltered to guarantee full accountability to citizens. If the report has been changed after the original version was published, it raises serious questions about how the government manages and reports state finances. As the opposition, we demand that the government provide immediate and detailed clarifications on this change, in order not to allow citizens to be deceived by manipulated information", said Lekaj.
Regarding the amendment of the Audit Report for the Annual Financial Report of the State Budget for 2023, the LDK held a conference on Friday, accusing the government of interfering in public institutions.
And in an announcement from the National Audit Office, it is stated that during the process of technical preparation of this report, an error was made, and the relevant institutions were also notified of this error.
While the Minister of Finance and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, through a post on social networks, has said that he believes that the National Audit Office has made a technical error, as far as this report is concerned.
