Në nderim të figurës së aktivistes për të drejtat e njeriut dhe ish-deputetes Flora Brovina e cila vdiq të martën, sot është mbajtur një ceremoni përkujtimore si dhe janë zhvilluar homazhe pranë arkivolit të saj në hollin e Kuvendit të Kosovës.
Brovina was one of the well-known figures of the resistance and public life in Kosovo. In 1992, she founded the Albanian Women's League, through which she was committed to women's and children's rights, as well as humanitarian aid.
During the war in Kosovo, she stayed in Pristina and continued her humanitarian and medical activities.
On 20 April 1999, he was arrested by Serbian forces and imprisoned in Serbia. In December 1999, a court in Niš sentenced him to 12 years in prison on charges of terrorist activities. The decision was later overturned by the Supreme Court of Serbia and the case was sent back for a retrial.
International human rights organizations considered her case political and called for her release. After about 19 months in prison, she was released in November 2000.
For her work, Brovina was honored with international awards.
