The head of the Vetëvendosje Movement Parliamentary Group, Arbërie Nagavci, has said that the tendency of the two largest opposition parties, PDK and LDK, is to send the country to elections.
After the failure of the session to elect the president, Nagavci told reporters that the approach of these opposition parties proves the intention to make the election of the president impossible.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support Contribute"Their approach only proves once again the tendency of these parties to make it impossible to elect the president and send the country to elections. We made all our efforts, the deputies were not here despite their obligation. We had no notification from them, but they consciously did not participate in the vote for the president," she said.
She further mentioned, as she called it, Vetëvendosje's willingness to provide signatures for candidates who may come from opposition parties.
"We were all witnesses that the opposition MPs did not participate in the invited session and did not provide any signatures or proposals regarding a consensual president. The LVV has been ready to support, namely to provide signatures for candidates who could come from the LDK or PDK, beyond this, we also previously saw the session where we proceeded with the amending changes to the Constitution so that the president could be elected directly by the people. We are in a situation where as the VV we have made it clear that we can offer our signatures," she emphasized.
Regarding the request made to the Constitutional Court to suspend the constitutional deadline for electing the president due to the non-participation in the vote of opposition MPs, Nagavci said that he believes that the response will be in favor of their request.
"We will address the Constitutional Court now, we will ask the court to take measures and review our request as a priority because we believe that the deputies who did not participate in the vote and who made the quorum impossible have committed a constitutional violation. We believe that the response will be in favor of our request," she stated.
