Mustafa does not see the elections as a solution for the president

The possibility that the country will go to elections if the parties do not agree on the post of president is being considered by the chairman of the LDK, Isa Mustafa, as worrying. Although none of the parties have the same position as each other regarding the election of the president, the chairman of the LDK still has hopes that they will reflect. But, even though he did not sign the VV's motion for the overthrow of the Government, the PDK this Thursday called for the country to go to extraordinary elections

In the discussions about the post of president, which took off after the resignation of Hashim Thaçi, the parties in power do not have the same positions, nor are they very optimistic that an agreement can be reached between them on this issue. All of them, even the PDK, which is in the opposition, have announced that they aim for the seat of the head of state. However, the chairman of the Democratic League, Isa Mustafa, still has hopes that they will reflect in the change of their attitude.

"I don't see that we have come to a dead end. I estimate that parliamentary political subjects have always shown responsibility for institutional stability, therefore reflection can be expected. In this situation, the question of who is the best is not asked, because everything is relative. The question that needs to be answered is which solution is the most acceptable. The answer should be common, of the relevant majority, not of one or two subjects. Conditional choice is not the solution", Mustafa said in a statement to KOHEN. He has considered worrying the possibility that the country will go to elections if the parties do not agree on the position of the president.

"Going to the elections is a normal process. But, causing elections in the inability to find a solution for the president is worrying. If now there is a lack of will and there is a barricade, then who guarantees that after the elections the necessary majority will be provided. If the process is prolonged, it is not expected that it will get better".

Although so far they have not initiated any motion against the Government, nor have they accepted to support the Self-Determination Movement for one, the Democratic Party of Kosovo sees going to the elections as the only solution. Deputy Abelard Tahiri, while criticizing the current government and the one under the leadership of the head of the VV, Albin Kurti, said that the Assembly is dysfunctional and called for the parties to join together for its dissolution.

"It is immoral to continue with this situation, because we cannot call this only governance, so it is time not to lose even a single day, even you who are holding the power hostage, and we as the opposition, who do not have votes to topple this government, let's sit down and agree on a date for this Assembly to dissolve. So this Assembly is dysfunctional", said Tahiri during his speech at the session of the Assembly of Kosovo.

Unlike his boss, the head of the Government, Avdullah Hoti, believes that the political parties will soon find a solution, leaving open the two paths he mentioned before: the election of a new president, or new elections.

"Now we are in a specific situation, where we have to give direction to the issues - choosing the president, or going to the elections. I believe that in the coming days we will be able to coordinate these activities of the entire political spectrum, in order to find the best solution for the country".

After the clashes between LDK, AAK and PDK regarding the election of the president, the Vetëvendosje Movement said that these subjects are trying to increase the market for positions as much as possible, therefore they are not supporting the motion for the overthrow of the Government.

"As long as these subjects threaten elections and do not sign the motion to overthrow the government initiated by the VV, they are inside the negotiation to capture as much as possible in the post market, always under the great panic of not going to the elections ", wrote Arlind Manzhuka from Vetëvendosje on Facebook.
However, AAK refused to comment on this statement. In this party, they have not even indicated whether they are considering the possibility of joining the opposition in overthrowing the Government.

The differences shown in public have caused the parties to continue to express their positions from a distance, and not to sit at the discussion table, invited by the chairman of the party that leads the governing coalition, Isa Mustafa, which was planned to be held at the beginning of this month.

Only the Vetëvendosje Movement has so far refused to participate in this meeting. The Head of the Government, Avdullah Hoti, announced a month ago that they intend to come out of such a meeting with a position, if there is a will to agree on the election of a new president, and if not, then on the elections exceptional.

Until now, only AAK has said that it will propose its leader, Ramush Haradinaj, as the head of state. However, the Democratic Party of Kosovo does not vote for Haradinaj, nor for any other candidate.
