The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, has criticized the decision of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo that took the Law on the minimum wage to the Constitutional Court, saying that those in power did not increase the minimum wage and now, according to the minister, they are trying to block it.
On Friday, the AAK brought to the Constitutional Court the Law on the minimum wage that was approved in the Assembly last week. President Vjosa Osmani has confirmed that she will not decree the Law without the decision of the Constitutional Court.
And the Minister of Finance said that there are nearly 81 workers who are eagerly waiting for the increase in the minimum wage.
"80.985 people are paid less than 264 euros per month. It is the maintenance workers, physical security, cashiers, construction workers and many others who are eagerly waiting for the increase in the minimum wage. However, those who for more than a decade left the minimum wage at 130/170 euros, today have sent the Law on the Minimum Wage to the Constitutional Court, to oppose the increase proposed by the Kurti Government. Let alone that they themselves did not increase the minimum wage while they were in power, but now that we have increased it, they are trying to block it at all costs. Why do they have so much hatred?!", Murati wrote.
