Muhaxhiri: Constitutional Court, the last major bastion not won by VV

Artan Muhaxhiri

Political analyst, Artan Muhaxhiri, has assessed that the Constitutional Court remains the only important institution that, according to him, is not under the influence of the Vetëvendosje Movement.

According to Muhaxhir, Vetëvendosje controls the Parliament, the Government, and the Presidency, while the Constitutional Court constitutes the "last major bastion" outside this influence.

"The Constitutional Court has remained the last major bastion unconquered by the Vetëvendosje Movement. That is, they have the Assembly, the Government, the Presidency, and only the Constitutional Court has remained outside their domain," he said on Thursday on KTV's "Interaktiv".

He further expressed his belief that Vetëvendosje will attempt to find new ways to block institutional processes, including the constitution of the Assembly, and potentially the formation of the Government.

"I am convinced that Vetëvendosje will discover a new way to block the process of constituting the Assembly, perhaps even the Government, because their imagination is very sensational and advanced in finding these ideas to block," he added.

Muhaxhiri has criticized the LVV's demands regarding community representation, describing them as undemocratic.

"There is no democratic logic, what Vetevendosje has requested is 100 percent undemocratic for the majority to elect the political representative of the minority," said Muhaxhiri.

While speaking about the opposition, Muhaxhiri said that it is going through a difficult phase after the election results.

"This situation is disappointing when neither side has the courage, nor the idea to have a clear position. The opposition is shocked by the election result, it is in a post-traumatic period and they are also shocked by the way in which Mr. Kurti won the elections easily after that whole one-year blockade. I do not believe that the political parties in Kosovo, especially the PDK and the LDK, have a leadership that could recover in such a short time, especially the LDK which has big problems, the PDK also has its eyes on The Hague. They have no plan and are waiting for Mr. Kurti," he said.
