Through a statement to the media, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers unacceptable, what it has described as destructive actions, malicious approaches and double standards, that the neighboring country Serbia is using in relations with the recognizing and non-recognizing states of the Republic of Kosovo.
According to the MFA, Serbia is exploiting, misusing and manipulating the dialogue for the complete normalization of relations between the two states with the primary goal of making diplomatic aggression against the international sovereignty and image of the Republic of Kosovo.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines the official position that the Republic of Kosovo has entered into a dialogue with the neighboring country - Serbia with the mediation of the EU, the full support of the USA and other allied and partner countries with the good will and trust of fully to improve the relations between the two states and peoples through the achievement of the Legally Binding Agreement, which should end with the mutual recognition between the two states and the full and equal membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the United Nations Organization ", says the letter of the MFA sent to the media, reports Koha.net. "For the Republic of Kosovo, dialogue with good will and in good faith has been and remains the only way to solve problems, build trust between two states and two peoples, promote long-term peace, strengthen regional stability and increase prosperity for all peoples, but it cannot and should not be transformed into a deliberate instrument, a destructive tool and a manipulative method by the neighboring country, for damaging and ruining the image of the new state in foreign relations and, in parallel, jeopardizing the national interests of to the state and the citizens of Kosovo", it is further stated there.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through this letter, considers that such actions by the leadership of the neighboring state seem to aim to shake the positive regional mood to give space to geopolitical actions, which cultivate inconsistency with the regional will for EU integration, NATO, the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in INTERPOL and the liberalization of visas for citizens of Kosovo.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the representatives of the EU, as mediators of the dialogue, the USA as its full supporter and other allied and partner states, to react immediately and warn the neighboring state against such behaviors and actions, which are in complete opposition to the expressed commitment to regional cooperation, the commitment to integration in the EU and the expressed declarative will for full normalization of relations between the two states", the MFA letter states.
