The leader of the Social Democratic Party, Dardan Molliqaj, has accused Prime Minister Albin Kurti of seizing institutions, while the opposition parties – PDK and LDK – have said that they serve Kurti.
He stressed that the election of the president late Tuesday was a planned result of Kurti, adding that the latter wants institutions "on his own terms."
"It was a planned result of Albin Kurti, the surrender of the opposition parties. PDK and LDK exist for only two reasons, one is to elect Kurti as president and the second is that as soon as he fulfills that formal condition, the opposition will exist," he said in "Konfront".
Molliqaj said that the elected president is "useful for what Kurti needs," while adding that the prime minister is taking "everything under control."
"Kosovo has completed the pre-final cycle of capturing all institutions. This cycle is complete. The last cycle is August next year, when some Constitutional Court judges will complete their mandate, but it is irrelevant now. In the case of the Constitutional Court, Kurti now has everything in control. We will be left without a court, he will choose the judges however he wants."
