Mogherini this afternoon in Skopje, on Saturday in Kosovo

The high representative of the European Union for foreign policy and security, Federika Mogherini, will arrive in the Republic of Macedonia this afternoon as part of her mini-tour in the Western Balkans.

As informed by the European Commission in Macedonia, she will meet with the President Gjorge Ivanov, with the leaders of the political parties represented in the Macedonian Assembly, as well as with the students participating in the "Erasmus" program, reports Zhrnal.

"For the European Union, working with the countries of the Western Balkans, a region that is at the heart of Europe, is a key priority. I work to see each of our Western Balkan partners progress on the path to reform towards the European Union, in order to ensure that this process is necessary. Regional cooperation and good neighborly relations remain of fundamental importance in this context", emphasized Federica Mogherini before the start of her mini-tour in the Balkans.

Mogherini will be in Belgrade tomorrow, where she will meet with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and other political leaders. Later on the same day, he will go to Tirana, where he will meet with the President of Albania, Bujar Nishani, Prime Minister Edi Rama and representatives of political parties.

On Saturday, March 4, Federica Mogherini will stay in Kosovo, where in Pristina she will meet with the Kosovar president, Hashim Thaçi, with the prime minister Isa Mustafa and other political representatives, while she will also visit Mitrovica.

After this visit to the countries of the Western Balkans, Federica Mogherini is expected to make a report on the situation in the region, which will then be examined at the Council of Foreign Affairs of the European Union, on Monday, while it will also be the topic of the Council Summit.
