Although the Ministry of Health signs contracts with economic operators for the supply of pharmaceutical products, even after the conclusion of the contract, there are cases of delays in the process of distributing medicines to the patient for up to 240 days. This is evidenced in the performance audit report for the Essential Medicines List of the National Audit Office (NAO).
Such a case happened in Gjakova Hospital. However, ZKA does not rule out the possibility that such cases may occur very often. But the hospital institutions do not keep data on why the supply is delayed for the contracts, which have already been signed and the drugs do not reach the hospitalized patients, "Koha Ditore" writes today.
Due to the distribution with constant obstacles and delays, according to this report, a shortage of medicines has been identified in all health institutions for long periods of time.
Neglecting the implementation of the contracts by the Economic Operators and not taking measures from the Ministry of Health, namely the University Clinical Hospital Service of Kosovo (ShSKUK), the supply has been incomplete, and as a result, the drugs necessary for the treatment of patients have not been available .
