Minister Selimi and the chairman of the KJC, Çoçaj, discussed the establishment of the Commercial Court

Pristina, June 30 - The Minister of Justice, Selim Selimi, and the Chairman of the Judicial Council of Kosovo, Skender Çoçaj, today held a meeting in which they discussed the current situation in the judicial system, the reform process and the effective functioning of this justice system. .

As stated in the press release, Minister Selimi, speaking about the importance of justice institutions and their role, emphasized that strengthening the independence, transparency and accountability of prosecutors and judges simultaneously strengthens their responsibility and performance in the exercise of their duties.

"As the Minister of Justice, I guarantee you my support in strengthening all levels of the courts, their independence, ensuring high professionalism, integrity and the engagement of as many professional capacities as possible" said Selimi.

During the meeting, it was also discussed about the establishment of the Commercial Court as well as about increasing the capacities of the Special Chamber of the Supreme Court, in which case Minister Selimi said that the solution of the cases in this department would give a great economic impulse to Kosovo .

On the other hand, the chairman Çoçaj thanked the minister for the cooperation offered and at the same time assured him that they remain committed to the further advancement of the agenda for the functioning of the rule of law in Kosovo, the announcement emphasizes.
