Kosovo Police, at the request of the Mayor of Leposavic, took action on Wednesday to vacate occupied public spaces in this municipality.

According to the Police announcement, these spaces were owned by the Municipality of Leposavic and were illegally occupied by parallel institutions of Serbia, which acted in violation of the legal order of the Republic of Kosovo.

As part of this operation, several offices of parallel institutions were closed, including the so-called "Employment Office", "Pension Office" and "Kopaonik Hotel Enterprise", where several other units operated within these facilities.

Authorities said this action represents an important step towards the rule of law and full institutional integration throughout the country's territory.

"The Kosovo Police, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities, will take all necessary actions according to the legislation in force," the announcement states.

Earlier today, authorities took action to close a Serbian parallel company operating in the municipality of Štrpce.

The Mayor of Leposaviq Municipality, Lulzim Hetemi, has stated that he is committed to ensuring that the assets are used by Kosovo institutions "and as such, to provide services to all citizens without distinction."

"Following the request I made to the Kosovo Police, today several occupied spaces of the Municipality of Leposavic that were being used by 3 parallel and illegal institutions of Serbia have been released. As the Mayor of the Municipality of Leposavic, together with my team, we are committed to ensuring that all our assets are used by the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and as such, we provide services to all citizens without distinction. I thank the Kosovo Police for their assistance and for their work aimed at providing order, security and guaranteeing respect for the laws of the Republic of Kosovo," he wrote on Facebook.
