At least 400 kilograms of products that did not meet the conditions for consumption were destroyed by decision of the Food and Veterinary Agency, announced Lamir Thaçi, spokesperson at this institution.
Thaçi said that in addition to the lack of conditions for consumption, they also left due to the lack of documentation of origin.
"On the national plans, the focus of inspection control in the summer season is on products that require storage conditions. We have had cases where certain products that were found to be stored in inadequate conditions were immediately removed from the market and destroyed, and court proceedings were initiated against the party. Even this year we had products that were removed, in some cases the reason was inadequate storage and the total amount of destruction for this year exceeds about 400 thousand kilograms. It is not only because of the storage conditions, but with the announcement of the businesses themselves for various reasons, lack of documentation, origins which have turned out to be not for consumption", said Thaçi.
Thaçi, in these high temperatures, has called on citizens to take permanent care in food products. He stated that all the products that are on the market are inspected and are safe for consumption.
Further, Thaçi said that there is no specific category of what should be eliminated in the summer season, but he added that all products that are sensitive should be stored at adequate temperatures.
"All that require storage conditions must be stored as long as the storage conditions are written, it means that their shelf life is valid. As long as we are a central authority, every product that is on the market is safe, because if that product were not safe, we would remove it from the market, but always during the nutrition regime or diet, consumers should always exercise caution", he said. he. /EO
