The verification of applications for subsidizing investments in residential houses with the aim of increasing energy efficiency has started. The authorities have announced that more than 2 citizens have applied to secure support from the 10 million euro fund, and that some of them have already received an answer as to whether their application was accepted or not.
More than two thousand citizens have applied for subsidies, from the fund that the Government has allocated within the framework of energy efficiency measures for individual residential houses.
The Kosovo Fund for Energy Efficiency said on Saturday that they are currently verifying the applications and that some citizens have already received answers as to whether their application has been accepted or not.
Fillojête Konjuhi, from the Kosovo Fund for Energy Efficiency, has shown when citizens can count on the Government's monetary support.
"When they return the pre-approval letters, they are open to start the works and they have six months to complete these works. When they complete the works, they notify the Fund and we go out to verify the works to see if they have been completed, as was the initial application, as was the pre-approval given, and then the disbursement procedure begins," she emphasized.
There is a total of 10 million euros available to support citizens in their investment in home insulation. The grant will cover the cost of exterior insulation, replacement windows and front door, and roof insulation.
The Kosovo Fund for Energy Efficiency will offer a subsidy of 45 percent of the investment cost, limited to the amount of 5 euros.

In this fund, they have emphasized that citizens, whose application has been accepted, receive a pre-approval letter by email, and have seven days to return it signed.
"Then, within three days, they receive confirmation that they can start work on the measures they have applied for. All citizens who receive pre-approval letters also receive some documents with instructions on how to act. But it is important that the citizens only sign the pre-approval letter and return it to us, they need the other documents to carry out the works", Konjuhi announced.
The project for subsidizing families investing in efficient houses is supported by the European Union, within the IPA program.
