Waste in Pristina, the prosecution authorizes the police to collect evidence

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has authorized the police to collect information and evidence regarding the lack of waste treatment and the situation created in the Municipality of Pristina as a result of its non-collection.

The announcement issued by the Prosecutor's Office states that all necessary actions have been requested to be taken regarding the pollution, degradation and destruction of the environment.

"The State Prosecutor, in his capacity as the Coordinator against Environmental Crimes in Pristina, has requested from the Environmental Crimes Investigation Unit in Pristina to take all necessary actions regarding the criminal offense of 'Pollution, degradation or destruction of the environment', based on Article 338 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo," the announcement states. 

It is further stated that this institution remains committed to implementing the law and addressing with priority issues related to environmental protection and public interest.
