Macedonia for the attack in the north: An attempt was made to bring the state to its knees

Ejup Makedonsi, Minister of Defense, in Interactive

The Minister of Defense of Kosovo, Ejup Maqedonci, has stated that the attack carried out in the Ibër-Lepenci channel was intended to bring the state of Kosovo to its knees and also a humanitarian disaster. He stated on Monday on KTV Interactive that this attack was the biggest ever, but not only in Kosovo.
According to Macedonci, the attack was aimed at mass destruction with unpredictable damage.

"A big attack that maybe not only Kosovo, but also beyond. One of the terrorist attacks that had a very destructive aim. It may be among the attacks that were intended to cause unpredictable damage. I believe that the tactical goal of this attack was to deny essential services, including electricity and water, and as a strategic goal of this attack, an attempt was made to bring the state to its knees and to destabilize not only Kosovo, causing a humanitarian disaster," Maqedonci stated.

He added that if there was no synchronized reaction of all institutions to remedy the situation, the situation would have been even worse.

"...Finding weapons and arresting many people over the years has been a preventive measure, not always terrorist attacks can be prevented. Success lies in the surprise and methods used by terrorist groups... All this ends when the culprits, criminals and terrorists are brought to justice. The prevention of these acts is not easy, the focus cannot be only on the Ibër Lepenci channel, I have already said that in all the countries of Western Europe there have been many terrorist acts that have caused mass damage and murder. "Prevention is not easy, but not impossible," Macedonci said.

The Minister of Defense has emphasized that the Kosovo authorities will do everything to prove that Serbia has a hand in this canal attack.

"The attack is related to the Russian attacks in Ukraine, with the airstrikes that took place on November 28. Because it is the same nature of the attack, the same act, the same goal and the time is very close between these attacks," he said.
