The National Program for Comprehensive Protection was approved this Wednesday by the Government of Kosovo.
The Minister of Defense, Ejup Macedonci, while talking about this program, said that it is similar to some NATO countries, especially the Baltic ones.
He emphasized that citizens will have an important role in this program.
"In all NATO countries, defense and security systems are being reviewed. During this year, one of my priorities has been the program and at today's meeting this program was approved and its implementation will be done after all the other relevant documents are ready", said Maqedonci for "A2CNN".
He added that comprehensive defense is a government strategy that includes a comprehensive social approach to the entire defense system and safeguarding the vital interests of the country and its citizens.
"The concept of comprehensive defense is not a replacement of the mandatory system, but a special concept, which is practiced in various NATO countries, especially in the Baltic countries, but also in other countries. Through this program, we give all citizens the opportunity to be part of the Kosovo defense system on a voluntary basis", said Maqedonci.
