Government spokesman Arlind Manjhuka responded to the Democratic Party of Kosovo after the latter stated that it was open to a comprehensive political agreement and also offered a limited agreement only for the election of the president, but that the VV refused. Manjhuka said that Prime Minister Albin Kurti had invited the PDK leader to the meeting and that Bedri Hamza had not raised any objections to Glauk Konjufca as a personality, whom the VV proposed as a candidate.
He added that Konjufca ran "at the very end" of the term, awaiting an agreement with the opposition.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support ContributeManjuka emphasized that VV had a problem with the names of those who became presidents in 2011 and 2016, but that they did not meet with them.
"As LVV in 2011 and 2016, we had a problem with the proper names of those who became presidents at that time. And instead of meetings with us, the government at that time persecuted and oppressed us with the police. Bedri Hamza was invited by KM Kurti to a meeting twice and they have normal and good communication. Hamza has never told Kurti that he has a problem with Glauk Konjufca as a personality, whom LVV nominated at the very end of the term for president, pending some agreement with the opposition," Manjhuka wrote on Facebook.
PDK's Tahiri said on Saturday that the problem is not the president, but VV's desire to control every institution. He further said that until it had the votes, VV should have sought agreement and consensus, adding that VV had rejected the agreement and insisted only on party candidates.
"So, there were alternatives. There were solutions. All that was missing was the political will of the parliamentary majority. Or, to put it more precisely: in the Vetëvendosje Movement, the thirst and desire for power and absolute control prevailed," Tahiri said.
