The Serbian List could not stand the punishment of terrorists, left the Assembly hall and comes out with a reaction

Serbian List

The Serb List MPs did not welcome the sentencing of two "Banjska" terrorists to life imprisonment and another to 30 years in prison. They left the Assembly hall as soon as the Albanian MPs stood up to evaluate the sentence of the Basic Court in Pristina.

Later, this party came out with a reaction in which it condemned the Court's decision.

"The Serbian List expresses the harshest condemnation of the verdict by which the participants in the events in Banjska were sentenced to two life sentences and one 30-year sentence, without presenting valid evidence, without determining individual responsibility and without clear justification of the concrete actions taken by the accused," the party's response reads, Kossev reports.

And in another reaction, the office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government described the decision as "made under political orders."

Blagoje Spasojevic and Vladimir Tolic were sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday in the "Banjska" case, while Dusan Maksimovic was sentenced to 30 years in prison. They were convicted for the armed attack in the village of Banjska, Zvecan, which took place on September 24, 2023. According to the verdict, they were part of a group of heavily armed Serbs who first blocked the bridge in the village, and then attacked police officers who went to the scene to remove the truck from the road. During the attack by armed Serbs, Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed and two other police officers were injured. According to the judiciary, the Serb group was led by the former deputy leader of the Serbian List, Milan Radoicic, who is on the run along with most of the other defendants.
