The investigations into three Montenegrins who were arrested on November 24 on suspicion of driving through Decani in a car with the Serbian license plate reading "Kosovo is Serbia" have been completed.

The decision was confirmed by the Special Prosecution Office and lawyer Jovana Filipović, representative of one of the three arrested.

"I confirm that the investigation into the criminal offense of 'Inciting Discord and Impatience' has been discontinued for the persons you asked about, since the evidence provided has not proven that the defendants RKMJ and DL committed the criminal offense for which the investigation was conducted by the Special Prosecution Office," said Liridona Kozmaqi, head of the Communications Office at this prosecutor's office, in response to KOHĀ on Friday.

The two Montenegrin soldiers and another Montenegrin citizen had been in custody since November 26. All three were suspected of inciting discord and intolerance.

The defendants' defense attorneys had said that Kosovo and Montenegro have interstate relations and that, according to them, the phrase "Kosovo is Serbia" falls within the domain of freedom of expression.

The detention of the three Montenegrin citizens was also discussed in the Parliament of Montenegro, where pro-Serb parties have demanded their release, also asking the Albanian MP in the Parliament of Montenegro, Ilir Çapuni, to influence Kosovo institutions.
