Letter of protest to Radoicic about the establishment of barricades in the north

The Basic Court in Pristina has approved the request of the Special Prosecution Office to issue a domestic and international warrant for Milan Radoicic. The Special Prosecution Office announced that the warrant was issued in connection with the investigation into the placement of barricades in four northern municipalities in 2022. Arrest warrants have also been issued for 10 other suspects in connection with the case.

The Basic Court in Pristina issued a domestic and international summons on Wednesday against the former deputy leader of the Serbian List, Milan Radoićić, regarding the barricades erected during 2022 in four northern municipalities, inhabited mainly by Serbs.

The Special Prosecution Office announced that the warrant was issued after the Court approved its request submitted as part of the investigative actions for the case three years ago.

Arbnora Luta, spokesperson for the Special Prosecution Office, said that in addition to Radoicic, arrest warrants have been issued for 10 other suspects.

"The Basic Court in Pristina has approved the request of the Special Prosecution, respectively the prosecutor of the case, for the issuance of a local and international warrant against Milan Radoičić. The arrest warrant was issued as part of the investigative actions being undertaken in the case of the placement of barricades in the four northern municipalities in 2022. In addition to Radoičić, the SPRK has also issued arrest warrants against 10 other suspects in this case. Around 50 people are being investigated for the criminal offenses: obstructing an official in the performance of official duties, calling for resistance and joining in unconstitutional activities," she emphasized.

This is not the first warrant issued for Radoičić. One was previously issued for the terrorist attack in late September 2023 in Banjska, Zvečan, in which Kosovo Police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed. In this case, Interpol also issued an arrest warrant for Radoičić in December 2023. In addition to the “Banjska” case, the Basic Court in Pristina also issued an arrest warrant for Radoičić in March of this year in connection with the criminal offense: “War crimes against the civilian population.”

Regarding the case of the barricades being set up in the north in 2022, the leader of the Serbian List, Zlatan Elek, was recently invited for an interview, but his questioning on Wednesday was postponed due to his lawyer's health reasons.

In December 2022, Serbian protesters blocked roads in the north to oppose the government's decision to ban the circulation of vehicles with illegal license plates issued by Serbia.
