The draft law on budget appropriations for 2026 has been approved in principle by the Assembly of Kosovo.
66 MPs voted for the 4 billion budget bill, 32 voted against and 5 abstained.
After approving the budget in principle, the parliamentary majority also approved the proposal of the Vetëvendosje Parliamentary Group to bypass the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly and review the budget in an expedited procedure. The majority decided that the session for reviewing the budget in second reading will be held on Friday, February 20.
During its review in the session held on Friday, opposition representatives criticized it, saying that it does not contain the promises that Prime Minister Albin Kurti made in his re-election speech.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that after sending the government program to the Parliament, they will also present the budget review to the deputies.
