The Constitutional Court has said that it is still handling the final requests for the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo.

In a response to Koha, the Constitutional Court said that the decision will be made after the Court addresses all constitutional aspects of the claims raised in the submitted requests.

"The latest requests regarding the constitution of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo are under review by the Court. The decision will be made after the Court addresses all constitutional aspects of the claims raised in the submitted requests. All interested parties and the public will be notified in a timely manner of the Court's decision," the Constitutional Court's response states.

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has addressed the Constitutional Court with a request for interpretation regarding the legal consequences that may arise if the new Assembly is not constituted within the specified deadline of 30 days.

The president's request emphasizes that resolving this conflict of powers requires clarifying:

In the decision published on February 24, the Constitutional Court has prohibited the deputies from making any decisions and actions after the 30-day deadline that it had set in the first judgment (after the request of the AAK). The temporary measure of the Constitutional Court determines that this ban is valid from July 27 to August 8.

In its decision, the Court considered that if an ex officio interim measure is not imposed on the decisions and actions of the elected members of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo after 27 July 2025, any decision and action taken after this date until the Court's decision on the requests may cause irreparable damage to the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo and the functioning of key institutions in the Republic of Kosovo.
