Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti received in a meeting the Commander of NATO's Allied Joint Forces Command in Naples, George M. Wikoff.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, during this meeting, Kurti spoke about the security situation in Kosovo and also underlined the goal of NATO membership.
Kurti also emphasized that security for Kosovo is primarily that of its borders.
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti also congratulated Commander Wikoff on assuming his new position.
"Kosovo is a success story of NATO intervention, liberation and independence, which has become an engine of economic development, a foundation for democratic state-building and an opportunity for social well-being. For this, the Prime Minister expressed the gratitude of the people of Kosovo to the North Atlantic Alliance. Speaking about the security situation, the Prime Minister underlined the goal and commitment of the Republic of Kosovo for full membership in NATO, as the best response to lasting peace, long-term stability and security in the region. The Prime Minister added that Kosovo's security is first and foremost the security of its borders," the OPM statement said.
