The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, at the inauguration of the renovations of the Oncology Clinic, said that substantial renovations of about 600 euros have been made in this clinic.
According to him, along with the renovation, the number of beds has also increased.
He said that the budget for the purchase of medicines has also been increased.
"I had the pleasure of visiting the Oncology clinic in which we have a substantial investment of about 600 thousand euros that has significantly transformed the clinic. They had 45 beds, now they have 60 beds. The waiting list is zero in radiotherapy. In addition, I am happy to know that the process of giving the vaccine for cervical cancer disease is going well. At the same time, the list of essential drugs has been expanded. In general in Kosovo, citizens who become patients, buy about 120 million euros of drugs. Now it seems that half of the cost is paid by the state, and half by the patient", he said.
According to him, from two magnetic resonances that have been for 20 years, now there are three new ones.
The Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, has said that there will be no waiting list for radiotherapy.
According to him, from now on patients will receive better quality treatment.
"I wish that there would be as few diseases as possible, but those who need them will receive the highest possible quality services", he said.
