Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at a joint conference with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, spoke about the conviction of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army by the Special Court.
He said that the Special Panel's conclusions and sentences contain factual, legal, and historical errors, which, according to him, await correction in the Appeal.
He stated that justice must be impartial and must be seen and experienced as impartial.
"We have concerns about the other conclusions and the heavy sentences. We believe that they contain factual, historical and legal errors and we expect them to be corrected in the Appeal. Justice must be impartial and must be seen and experienced as impartial. Kosovo demands justice for every crime and for every perpetrator. We cannot allow the equating of responsibility and guilt, because someone wants to create alternative narratives," Kurti declared.
According to him, in this verdict, there are three points that should be emphasized internationally. Kurti emphasized that the Yellow House or organ trafficking is not part of the indictment, the charge of crimes against humanity was dropped, and they clearly emphasized that the KLA is not on trial and that the decision does not intend to violate the justice or legitimacy of the KLA.
