The Trade Union of RTK, through a press release, asks the president of the country, Hashim Thaçi, not to decree the Law on salaries, without withdrawing the amendment of RTK, where with the last decision of the Assembly of Kosovo, it intervened directly in the independence of the Public Broadcaster, including RTK in the Law on salaries.
"The trade union has opposed this action of the Assembly of Kosovo through protests because RTK has its own law and it is unacceptable for RTK to be transformed from a public medium into a state medium. Dear President, we ask you to protect the rights of the media in general and in this case to help the Public Broadcaster by finding legal opportunities to remove RTK from the Salary Law", says their reaction.
The union has also organized a petition and is in the process of collecting voluntary signatures from our colleagues to oppose the recent decision of the Assembly of Kosovo on the inclusion of RTK in the Salary Law.
