The technical director at Telecom of Kosovo, Halil Krasniqi, stated that since Tuesday, this company has faced cyber attacks, but that they have not endangered the safety of consumers.
He said on Wednesday in KTV's Interactive, that the attack was carried out by 30 computers.
According to Krasniqi, the attacks are unidentified and that they came from different foreign IPs.
"The attack is known as DDoS, it is an attack that creates fake packets in the network, from many computers. Cak is not an assigned IP. The only downside is the network load. There is no other risk in the network system. We have identified a large range of IPs, 30 thousand computers have simultaneously attacked our Telecom server. The attacks were from different places, but the incoming IPs also come from computers on the network that don't even know they are attacking you. The attacker infects thousands of computers and manages to attack the target", he declared.
Krasniqi said that an analysis is being made as to which countries the attacks took place from, adding that they are cooperating with the security authorities to clarify the case.
"Telecom has had contact with the authorities today, this issue is not just for one operator to defend himself. We will continue the cooperation and we will see, since the source or the attacker cannot be found from these IPs. We have our own mechanisms to protect ourselves from these attacks", Krasniqi continued.
The technical director of Telekom emphasized that currently the company is safe, but that they should be careful and vigilant.
