The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, has said that the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, finds it easier to sacrifice Albulena Haxhiu than to come out and "measure himself" when it comes to forming the Government, since, according to him, he does not have sufficient numbers.
After the failure of the 11th attempt to constitute the Assembly, Krasniqi said that Kurti cannot hold the state hostage, he must change the candidate if he wants to make a solution.
"For Albin Kurti, it seems that Albulena Haxhiu is more important than over a million citizens who voted in the February 9 elections and who gave their verdict on how institutions should be created. He is playing with Albulena Haxhiu by keeping her as a candidate who will not pass even in the future, because it is easier for him to sacrifice her than to come out and measure himself since he knows that he does not have the numbers. Albin Kurti must also understand one thing, he cannot hold the state hostage with force, he has held it for long enough now, if he really wants to have a way out, I invite him to change the candidate," he said.
According to Krasniqi, what the Vetëvendosje Movement is doing is a violation of democracy.
"The LVV, unwilling to accept the defeat they suffered in the past elections, is continuing to hold the country hostage. This is a violation of democracy, democracy is pluralism, different opinions and compromises. There is none of this here. An attempt is being made to violate the will," he said.
