The former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Memli Krasniqi, has called the idea of Vetëvendosje and LDK to share this ministry malicious.
According to him, "the butchery-style fragmentation of MKRS is the product of a destructive mindset."
In the negotiations between VV and LDK for the formation of the government, it was said that this ministry will be divided and Culture and Youth will join that of Education, while that of Sports will join Health. According to Krasniqi, this proposal is malicious and shows a deceptive mindset.
"The proposal to abolish the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MKRS) is not only poorly thought out, but essentially malicious. If MKRS really splits up in this butcher style, to distribute it to other ministries, just to say that the number of ministries is decreasing, this best shows the deceptive mindset of those who have proposed and approved this idea. The Departments of Culture, Youth, Sports, Cultural Heritage and Copyright, even being covered by a separate ministry, have constantly needed more support and attention from the government. In the last mandate, all these areas have marked progress and successes. Whereas, if in the next mandate they are divided and thrown one there and one somewhere else, this will be the most negative development that can happen for these areas, and above all for the communities that represent them", he wrote in Facebook.
Krasniqi went on to say that no one has made Kosovo more proud than the successes of athletes and artists.

"Instead of these successes becoming a trigger to support them even more in the new mandate, this attempt-government officially wants to marginalize these communities, by moving them through ministries that will never take their needs and demands seriously. Because Education and Health are areas that will necessarily dominate not only the interest of those who will lead those ministries, but also their identification and assessment of how (un)successful they will be at the head of those ministries" , he said further.
Krasniqi said that if this idea is realized, "a large part of the current legislation that MKRS implements will be suspended, especially the Law on Sponsorships, which, with many difficulties and opposition from those who are trying to make the government today new, we approved it in the last term".
"The annulment of MKRS will make it impossible to implement this law, making it impossible for athletes, artists, young people, sports clubs and cultural institutions to receive financial support from the private sector, for which they very much need and have been working and asking for for years all", added Krasniqi.
He said that the idea of "slicing" MKRS is an insult.

This also applies to all the professionals of the cultural institutions that are part of the MKRS", he continued.
"It never occurred to me that anyone who claims to govern the country could so easily undo these important, even identity and irreplaceable dicasteries for a young and fragile state like Kosovo. But it is already clear that the destructive mindset that has distinguished them in the opposition for years, seems to be their way of acting in the government as well, if they manage to do it", Krasniqi concluded his reaction.
