The Central Election Commission (CEC) has certified the results of the municipal assembly elections of October 12 for all municipalities, except for the results for the assembly in Istog.
The results for the assembly in this municipality have not been certified after the Supreme Court overturned a decision of the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP), after accepting the appeal of the AAK candidate for assemblyman in the Municipality of Istog, Avni Gashi, and returned the case for re-examination.
Members of the Vetëvendosje Movement have voted against certifying the results for assemblies in municipalities where the Serbian List won.
"Since we have filed a complaint with the Constitutional Court for the LS... especially in Kllokot where the candidate was forced to resign because they gave him a position... I vote against all certifications for municipalities where the Serbian List has a majority of votes. I want to make this distinction, but for the Serbian List I am against it," declared LVV member Sami Kurteshi.
In the local elections, the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo have secured the leadership of seven municipalities each.
The Vetëvendosje Movement won in the first round in Podujevo, Shtime and Kamenica. While of the 12 municipalities in which it competed in the run-off, it won in South Mitrovica, Gjilan, Obiliq and Fushë Kosova.
