Kosovo 26th out of 226 countries in the Henley Investment Risk and Sustainability Index

Kosovo is ranked 26th in the organization's Global Investment Risk and Sustainability Index.Henley", as one of the safest countries in the world to invest in. The index includes 226 countries in total.

Kosovo is rated 20.59 on a scale of 0-100 (lower is better) in the risk index, which takes into account inflation risk, currency volatility, political instability, legal risk, and climate risk.

Meanwhile, in the sustainability index, Kosovo received a score of 69.56 points (the higher the better). This includes assessments of economic complexity, external accounts, investment, innovation, quality of governance, social progress, fiscal policy space, and climate resilience.

And from the overall combination, Kosovo received a rating of 74.84 points.

Kosovo is the safest country for investment in the region, far surpassing all other countries. North Macedonia is 65th, Montenegro 69th, Serbia 71st, Albania 74th and Bosnia and Herzegovina 77th.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti also reacted to the ranking. He said that this assessment is evidence of economic growth and the rule of law.

"We are the first in the region in this index, as well as many positions ahead of several member states of the European Union. This ranking of Kosovo is another proof of economic growth and strengthening of the rule of law and security, sectors that make it possible to have a suitable environment for doing business and offer investment opportunities in many fields", Kurti wrote on Facebook. "Kosovo as a safe place to invest, according to Henley, comes as news just a few months after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) removed our country from the list of States in Fragile and Conflict Situations, and a few days after the same institution assessed that Kosovo will continue to have the highest economic growth in the region this year. Despite global crises and numerous challenges from external factors, our country continues to strengthen, to offer better conditions for socio-economic development and safe investments".

Switzerland is in first place in the world, followed by Denmark and Norway. Singapore, Sweden, Luxembourg, Finland, Greenland, the Netherlands and Germany complete the top 10 safest countries for investment.
