The municipality of Pristina is determined not to withdraw from the establishment of new bus lines in the "Mat" and "Kalabria" neighborhoods.
The Mayor of the Municipality, Shpend Ahmeti, in his position published on the social network "Facebook", has said that the Municipality has intervened with new buses in some parts of the city where they have made a profit, especially on "Muharrem Fejza" street and in "Kalabri" (at the School of Economics), Koha Ditore writes today.
"Also, the transporter from Makoci complained that the bus from Keqekolla is taking passengers away, because everyone wants to ride on the new buses. They demand that the new buses be pulled from 'Kalabria' and from Lagjja e Spitalit, because they had their old buses on these lines", said Ahmeti.
He has enumerated several reasons, which, according to him, have led the Municipality to put the new buses on the lines about which the private public transport companies made a series of protests.
He said that initially "Urban Traffic" notified the subcontractors several times during the last years that the new buses will replace the old ones. Then the "Calabria" neighborhood and the Hospital neighborhood have made hundreds of requests for public transportation. And there are many lines that pass in some parts on the same roads.
