The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has announced that they have begun making debt payments after the partial allocation of funds from the Ministry of Finance.

Earlier, the acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, said that the Municipality of Pristina has been allocated 2.7 out of 25 million euros in total own-source revenues for 2024.

In a Facebook announcement, the mayor of Pristina wrote that the Finance Directorate is working overtime today to make payments.

"Finally, the partial allocation of financial resources of 25 million euros from the 2024 transfer from the Ministry of Finance to the Capital has begun. The Capital's Finance Directorate will continue its work today, outside regular working hours, in order to process payments as quickly as possible. In accordance with the dynamics of the allocation of funds by the Ministry, we as a municipality will continue to process payments continuously and regularly," Rama wrote.

He further said that he expects the full allocation of 25 million euros from the Ministry to be completed as soon as possible.

The reason for these debts is that Urban Traffic in the capital has not been working for nine days now.
